Winnsboro High School FCCLA Students take Regionals by Storm

          Winnsboro High School Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members took the Regional Competition by storm on Friday,  February 1 . More than 800 students from all school classifications participated in the two-day event at the Plano Center. 
            Winnsboro High School entered 12 competitions and took First Place in 8 categories, Second Place in 3 of the categories, and 4th place in the other. All WHS teams earned the right to advance to the State Competition in Corpus Christi in April.  
First Place winners included Ana May, Joy Smedley, and Miranda Saunders – Entrepreneurship, Occupational Division; Justin Waite, Ola Bernhardtz, and Collin Garrett – Chapter Service Manual, Occupational Division; Layne Bright, CJ Satterwhite, and Tanner Morris – Applied Technology, Senior Division; Rusdon Mills, Tyler Hazlewood, and Brianna Short – National Programs in Action, Occupational Division; Amber Atkinson, Megan Lowe, and Ashley Jones – Chapter Service Manual, Occupational Division;  Stephanie Hamilton – Job Interview, Occupational Division; Abbey May, Holly Stone, and Katelyn Gambrel – Illustrated Talk, Junior Division; and Kyle Simmonds and Deana Knight – Illustrated Talk, Occupational Division.
            Other members placing included Second Place finishers JJ Griffin – Job Interview, Senior Division; Haley Mills, Adam Cook and Abigail Cook – National Programs in Action, Senior Division, and Karlee Finney and Taylor Loftis – Life Planning. Placing Fourth in the chapter Showcase Manual, Senior Division was the team of Jalen Safford and Shelby Stegall.
            Other students attending as Voting Delegates included Katie Busby and Jade Hunter. Competition Assistants included Colten Garrett, Jade Hunter, and Casey Phillips.

      All WHS teams earned the right to advance to the State Competition in Corpus Christi in April.
